This policy explains what personal data we may collect when you use watsonanddalton.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and your rights under UK data protection law (including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). 1. Who we are
WATSON & DALTON BESPOKE SPACES LTD is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13297983). We trade as Watson & Dalton and provide design-and-build services for residential and light commercial projects. For data protection purposes the company is the data controller for information collected through the Site and our enquiry forms. The public register entry is available from Companies House.
2. What we collect
Depending on how you use the Site, we may process:
- Enquiry form: name, email address, phone number (if you provide it), service interest, location/postcode, optional budget band, your message, and your consent confirmation.
- Email or phone: anything you choose to send us when you contact us directly.
- Technical data: your browser sends routine information to our hosting provider (for example IP address, date/time of request, and page requested) in server logs. We do not use this Site to run behavioural advertising.
3. Why we use your data (lawful bases)
- To respond to enquiries — legitimate interests (running our business and responding to prospective clients) and, where needed, contract steps at your request before a contract.
- Consent — where you tick the consent box on our form, we rely on consent to send you direct communications about your enquiry. You may withdraw consent at any time by replying to our email or contacting us using the details in section 7.
- Legal obligations & security — where the law requires us to keep records, or to detect spam and abuse.
4. Where data is stored (processors)
The Site is designed to be hosted on Netlify (USA / global infrastructure). When you submit the contact form, Netlify processes the submission on our behalf as a data processor under appropriate safeguards (such as the UK IDTA / EU SCCs as applicable). We may also use professional email (e.g. Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace) and file storage; those providers are selected for appropriate security and contractual terms.
5. How long we keep data
We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to handle your project discussion and, if you become a client, for the duration of the work and any legal retention period (for example accounting or warranty records). Marketing-style follow-ups, if any, will be proportionate and aligned with what you asked for.
6. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site and our business (e.g. hosting, email), under contract;
- Professional advisers where required (e.g. insurers, lawyers);
- Authorities where the law requires us to.
7. Your rights
You may have the right to: access your data, rectify inaccuracies, erase data in certain cases, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and data portability (where applicable). You may also lodge a complaint with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies
This Site does not use non-essential marketing cookies by default. Essential cookies or local storage may be used by our host for security and basic operation. Third-party scripts loaded on the Site (for example fonts from Google Fonts) may process technical data according to those providers’ policies.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
